    Under direction of the Site Manager, and working in collaboration with the site's interpretive team, the Head of Education is primarily responsible for:

    • Planning, development, and delivery of education programs, including the training, direction and scheduling of the contracted Blackfoot guides, who deliver seasonal education & interpretation programs and events

    • Video conferencing for schools and special groups, Edukit development and maintenance, social media for education, and interpretation outreach

    • Developing, implementing and evaluating, the effectiveness of education programs, in cooperation with education authorities from Alberta Education, to ensure optimal value for teachers wishing to meet Alberta curriculum guidelines with respect to Indigenous content.

    • Working with a team that includes the Head of Interpretation, Lead Blackfoot Cultural Guide and the Marketing & Special Events Coordinator, to plan, prepare and present an annual series of public programs and special events at the Interpretive Centre.

    • Bookings and scheduling of interpretive guides for education programs, guided tours and special events

    • As the successful applicant, you will provide the leadership and expertise required to ensure that quality programs are delivered to client satisfaction and within the site's interpretive themes as outlined by Historic Sites and Museums.
