    Role Responsibilities

Are you looking for an opportunity to use your skills, education and related experiences to become a Park Interpreter? Working the summer season in Alberta Parks is unlike any other – full of challenge, personal & professional growth and the opportunity to educate a spirited, fun-loving group of life-long learners who are interested in learning more about Alberta’s history and culture. If you enjoy engaging with the public, being an ambassador for the conservation of our natural environment and helping to promote sustainable and responsible recreation opportunities, you’ll want to be a part of our team.

This Forestry and Parks experience offers the opportunity to live and work in some of Alberta’s most beautiful landscapes, from grassland prairies to boreal forest, to Canadian Badlands or the Rocky Mountains.

Multiple locations in Alberta are now hiring Seasonal Interpreters to foster stewardship of recreation and conservation through engaging and informative interactions with visitors in Alberta Provincial Parks.  These programs connect adults and children with the biological and cultural diversity of Alberta’s parks and protected areas, as well as encourage safe outdoor recreation experiences. The ability to work both independently and as part of a team while demonstrating the Alberta Public Service values of respect, integrity, accountability and excellence in everything you do will be essential to your success.

As a Park Interpreter, depending on location, you may be involved in the development and/or delivery of a variety of personal programming such as curriculum driven education programming, theatrical presentations, recreational activity instruction, informal talks, guided hikes and tours, other forms of information delivery, and public safety messaging.

Park Interpreters may also work with stewardship groups, partners and volunteers to further support the connection between local communities and the landscapes in which they live, work and play.
